Niall Horan Flies To New York City During Tour Break To Hang Out With Girlfriend Hailee Steinfeld

Using time off to see his lady! Niall Horan put romance first by traveling to New York to visit his girlfriend, Hailee Steinfeld, during some rare downtime, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.

“Niall flew to New York City to hang out with Hailee during his three-day break from tour,” the insider says. “He had a show in Mexico on Saturday and another one in Houston on Wednesday.”

Horan, 24, is using this trip as an opportunity to spend quality time with Steinfeld, 21, without prying eyes. “He’s in New York alone — no staff, crew, friends, etc.,” the source adds. “They’ve been staying at a hotel together in New York.”

The couple were spotted leaving their hotel in great spirits on Monday, July 16. “They left the hotel, holding hands, smiling and looking very happy,” the source explains. “They then went to Saks Fifth Avenue and went shopping.”

While the former One Direction member is on a short break from his Flicker World Tour, Steinfeld is still hard at work. The “Most Girls” singer is set to perform at Radio City Music Hall on Monday night.

The time Hailee Steinfeld’s mom got mistaken for Jerry Seinfeld

Her “True Grit” performance nabbed her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination in 2011 when she was just 14, but more recently, Hailee Steinfeld has been winning in the music world with singles such as “Starving” (with Grey and Zedd) and “Let Me Go” (with Alesso, Florida Georgia Line and Watt).

As she continues to work on her debut album, the “Pitch Perfect 3” actress is now opening for “Attention” singer-songwriter Charlie Puth on his “Voicenotes” tour, which hits Radio City Music Hall on Monday.

Here, she dishes about playing the historic New York venue, turning 21 and close-last-name encounters with Jerry Seinfeld.

What makes you and Charlie Puth a good double bill for a show?
We share the same fan base, and our music is in the same sort of vein. Charlie and I have been friends for a couple years, so the tour was a fun idea for us, but once it was announced, we started to see a bit of a reaction. I am such a fan of Charlie. I think he is a musical genius. For him, everything in his life is about the music. He eat, sleeps and breathes it. His work ethic is insane.

How do you feel about playing Radio City?
It feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’ve had the honor of doing it before [opening for Meghan Trainor in 2016], and I really can’t believe I get to do it again. It’s pretty cool that I can say the first time I was there was when I played it. But it was actually quite terrifying because I didn’t even get to warm up to it. It feels so massive because of how iconic it is, but you can see almost everybody in the room and that also makes it feel intimate.

When you come through New York, what’s your favorite hangout spot?
I’m really into my shopping, so the Meatpacking District is definitely a spot I hit up when I’m there. If I started to list [my favorite Meatpacking shops], it would be every store there.

You turned 21 this past December. What did you do to celebrate?
My actual birthday was on a Monday, and I was working, so I just went to dinner with my family and a couple friends. And that was enough for me, that was all I needed. And then sure enough the next weekend there was this massive surprise party [in Los Angeles] with my friends that flew into town for it, which was really, really special.
