Hailee Steinfeld’s Gorgeous Braided Updo – Get Her Cute Style In 4 Steps

Hailee seriously stepped up her braid game with the help of one of our fave celeb stylists — and we’ve got the exact how to right here.

Hailee Steinfeld‘s cool braided top knot is the perfect style for prom, or just an elevated every day look. It’s actually really easy to re-create it. Get it in 4 steps below!

Celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa created the look and explained how to get it to HollywoodLife.com readers.
Hailee Steinfeld’s Braid & Top Knot — Get Her Braided Updo

Sarah says:

“1) To add texture to the hair before braiding, loosely curl large sections with The Beachwaver S1® and spray with Aussie’s Sprunch Spray.

2) Separate hair into three sections in the back and secure out of the way with The Beachwaver® Darby Clips. Then create a French braid going up the back and a French fishtail in the section next to it. Secure with elastics.”

“3) Create a large 2″ side section and braid in to a French fishtail by separating the hair in to two and taking a small piece from the left and sending it under to add it to the right. Then take a small piece from the right section and send it under to add to the left. Each time add hair from the root as you continue to fishtail. Secure with an elastic.”

“4) Bring all the hair in to a high ponytail. Roll hair down in to the Beachwaver® Wrap Up Bun and twist and pin the braids around the top knot!”

5 Fast Facts About Hailee Steinfeld

Whether or not “Love Myself” is actually about masturbation, actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld’s song has been a huge hit this year. Here are five reasons why Block 7’s celebrity guest has some pretty cool reasons to love herself:

  • At 14, she was the face of one of designer label Miu Miu’s campaign. The ad, with Steinfeld posing on a train track, was banned in the UK by the Advertising Standards Authority for suggesting youth suicide. Yikes.
  • She played The Trinity in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video. Her character was actually a set of identical triplets. She’s credited on IMDB for the role.
  • Her favorite new movie is Straight Outta Compton. “I really didn’t have any expectations walking in, because I wasn’t aware of how powerful it was, but I really, really loved that movie,” Steinfeld said.
  • She only likes cheese, meat and bun on her burger. And sometimes avocado, if the place has it. Otherwise, she likes it plain.
  • She was nominated for an Oscar when she was 15. In 2011, Steinfeld was up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for True Grit but lost to Melissa Leo.

Hailee Steinfeld: I Only Sang in the Shower Before Pitch Perfect 2

She’s the newest member of the Barden Bellas, but Hailee Steinfeld says her singing skills were limited before signing on to costar in Pitch Perfect 2.

“I was equally excited as I was nervous,” Steinfeld, 18, tells PEOPLE in the magazine’s new issue of taking on the role as the a cappella group’s newest recruit.

“Singing has always been something that I love, but I’ve never taken it any further than maybe the shower.”

But when her agent called to tell her about the possible part, the True Grit Oscar nominee couldn’t wait to give it a shot.

“The whole concept of singing a cappella was something so fascinating to me, and watching the first movie you realize how cool it is, but you don’t realize how hard it is.”

Hailee Steinfeld Joins Vince Vaughn in ‘Term Life’

Hailee Steinfeld has been cast in Term Life, Universal’s adaptation of an Image graphic novel starring Vince Vaughn.

Peter Billingsley is directing the action comedy, which Vaughn is producing with Micah Mason and Victoria Vaughn via the actor’s Wild West Picture Show Productions banner.

The graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman (who also wrote the adaptation) and Nick Thornborrow centers on a low-life whom everybody — including mob bosses, contract killers and dirty cops — wants dead. In a rare act of selflessness (and desperation), the man takes out a million-dollar term life insurance policy to benefit his estranged daughter, but soon after, he realizes it doesn’t take effect for 21 days. The story, laid out in nonlinear fashion, focues on the man’s efforts to make it to the finish line while trying to be a responsible father for the first time.

Steinfeld will play Vaughn’s character’s daughter.

Vice president of production Kristin Lowe is overseeing the project for Universal.

Steinfeld is coming off the hot Toronto Film Festival premiere of Can a Song Save Your Life and will next be seen in Ender’s Game.
